On Saturday 6th  and Sunday 7th  of September the 4th  part  of   Melodious Competition “do re mi”  international song festival will be held at Rufus Thomas Park in Porretta Terme put on by the  municipality of Porretta Terme.

The competition is a part of a larger collaboration between Ukraine, Russia, Byelorussia and Italy for a cultural and artistic exchange between our nations.

The competition born from Olexandr Gladish’s will (the president of S.V.U. and ACETY, the melody and dance federations of Ukraine, Russian and Byelorussia)  and our Apennine citizen Carlo Nasci (the president of Stile Italiano Association).  After the previous shows in Evpatoria (Ukraine), Sochi (Russian) and Yalta (Ukraine) this will be the first time on the Italian stage in Porretta Terme. A city famous for its natural spas  and for its many music festivals, the most well known being The Porretta Soul Festival. The competition born with the intent of approaching  the different cultures separated by political blocks  and giving an opportunity to those up and coming singers among us. Fifty singers from  these four nations will present themselves  and will be judged by a panel of experts. There will be 3 awards given in total, one for overall best solo, best duo and best band. There will also be a special award available  only to Italian competitors to win a free entry, flight and lodging  for the next stage of the competition. The show will also include some special performances by Anna e Maria Opanasuk and the famous Ukraine TV show girls.

There will also be on stage those  from our entertainment sector like Sergio Usai (producer) Gino Borrelli (music management) Tiziana Patergnani ( TV consultant), Franco Ventura (International Dance Federation’s secretary), Antonino Zampardo (artistic director) and Valerio Burberi (dance master and manager of Italian Sport Dance Federation).

Entries will be open until the 3^rd of September 2008 (forms can be  downloaded by visiting www.comune.porrettaterme.bo.it.) Hotel Santoli and Hotel Cini will be giving those participating special prices on  accommodations.
